Job Title: Part-Time Music Teacher Electric Guitar
Location: Sandton, South Africa
Reference #: Part-Time Music Teacher Electric Guitar (Contract Post)

Job Summary:
The requirements of the position:
•A suitable professional qualification i.e. a degree or diploma in music or equivalent experience, having specialised in electric guitar
•Appropriate educational experience
•Experience in teaching electric guitar up to grade 8 level according to the Rockschool and Trinity Rock & Pop syllabi
•The candidate will be responsible to prepare students for the practical component of subject music up to Grade 12
•The ability to train ensemble groups and source the necessary repertoire for group work
•Good organisational skills, preferably experience in organising musical groups and/or events
•The willingness and ability to teach beginners
•Previous experience in teaching in an IEB school will be an advantage
•Fully computer literate with the ability to incorporate technology in the classroom and for administrative tasks
•The willingness to perform with ensembles within the department at special occasions
•Vibrant, hard-working and enthusiastic candidates who work well in a team and who believe they would be an asset to this exuberant department
•An awareness of the nature of the school and willingness to commit to its all-round ethos, co-curricular activities and pastoral approach
•Proof of registration with SACE supported by a sexual offender’s clearance certificate
