Job Title: Data Officer
Location: Accra, Greater Accra, Ghana

Position Description
The Data Officer will assist IMPAACT4TB facility ART and DOT units enrol patients onto the project at sentinel sites. He/she will collect and manage data, participate in monitoring and evaluation project field activities, and will report directly to the Monitoring & Evaluation Manager and must maintain communication and coordination with Aurum Ghana Office on all field related decisions.

Field Data Officer will:
•Be responsible for collecting and recording data from IMPAACT4TB sentinel sites and ensure accurate data is captured and recorded into the respective data collection tools in a timely manner;
•Ensure that all routine data are appropriately entered into the national report system – DHIMS2 platform;
•Conduct routine data audit and of all data entered onto national reporting system – DHIMS2 against facility generated data;
•Ensure timely and complete reporting of all sentinel sites implemented activities in accordance with approved reporting formats;
•Identify gaps and challenges with existing data collection and management system and report to M & E Manager;
•Liaise with Programme Coordinators and other technical personnel in communicating project information needs;
•Compile data and prepare monthly reports in line with the required formats;
•Coordinate sentinel sites visits by the M&E unit and assist in verifying the accuracy of reported data;
•Ensure that data queries from M&E unit are addressed in an accurate and timely manner;
•Gather information on lessons learned and success stories.

Requirements
Educational Qualification
Minimum of a Diploma in Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or in any related field.

Knowledge/Experience
•At least 2 years of health information and data management experience.
•Experience of working in a non-governmental health project is an added advantage.
•Good level of proficiency in Window Excel and quantitative analysis.
•Conversant with different M & E tools, surveys, surveillance system and evaluations.

Behavioural competencies and skills
•Flexible and easy to train in different data collection tools;
•Good interpersonal skills;
•Excellent oral and written communication skills in English;
•Ability to work independently most of the time;
•Ability to cope with a demanding work environment and to organize and prioritize workload.
