To manage and maintain the Food Safety Management Program and manage the Quality Control department to ensure compliance to food safety standards, product specification and customer requirements. Align Gritco standards to best practise where necessary.

Qualifications and Experience
•Relevant Food Safety training – preferably FSSC 22000, PRP’S and HACCP
•3 years as a Quality or Food Safety Officer
•Good understanding of FSSC 22 000
•Working knowledge of quality management programs

Key responsibilities of this role
•Food Safety management program
Review current documents and ensure compliance to FSSC 22000 standards
To have a professional Food Safety system which is ready for audits from controlling bodies, customers and internal intercompany
audits
Conduct audits and corrective actions.

•Food Safety training and staff compliance
Review training identify gaps and motivate for training that if required.
To have workforce who will all adhere to Food Safety requirements

•Food Safety meetings and communication
Identify all role players, set up required meetings, and ensure this is done on an ongoing basis
Ensure meetings take place on all shifts and audit the process.

•Food Safety Audits
Draw up action plans to rectify non-conformance and identify root cause
To ensure all gaps have been identified and corrective action taken to rectify
Implement Food Safety systems, including policies, procedures and manuals

•Quality Assurance
Manage the Quality Controllers
Manage the laboratory
PRP’S as per food safety requirement
GMP’S as per food safety requirement.

•Quality Control
Product sampling procedure
Quality analysis done correctly and customer product within specification
Hourly Analysis
Record keeping
