Botswana Ash (Pty) Ltd is a Soda Ash and Salt producing Company situated on the Sua Pan in Botswana, approximately 180 km by tarred road northwest of Francistown. The Company employs over 500 employees of which close to 300 are unionised. Employees and their families live in Sowa Town, about 20 km from the plant site. The town boasts of recreational facilities, which include restaurant, tennis, squash, swimming and golf. There is also an excellent English medium pre-primary, primary and secondary school as well as public primary and junior secondary schools.

Job Summary:
To supervise and coordinate the activities of the distribution section to achieve optimum turnaround on rail wagons and trucks using available resources.
Key Results areas:
•Plans for and coordinates the movement of trucks, trains and wagons within the exchange yard in accordance with the operational requirements.
•Oversees the marshalling and shunting of trains according to specifications.
•Inspects wagons in line with standard operating procedures by initiating planned maintenance schedule for trains according to need or condition of locomotives and submitting to the Engineering department for planned maintenance schedule preparation
•Coordinates the implementation of SHERQ in area of responsibility.
•Manages the effectiveness areas of subordinates by setting, monitoring and reviewing targets and taking remedial action as necessary.
Requirements
•Certificate/Diploma in logistics and distribution/ certificate in locomotives operations.
•At least three (3) years’ experience in the Rail Transport Industry
•SHE Training, First Aid, Rail/track safety and Supervisory Training will be an added advantage.
