Job Title: Counsellor – Swartland, Malmesbury CDC
Location: Malmesbury, Western Cape, South Africa

Contract Type: Temporary 2 Months
YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
•HCT services using ACTS/PICT model for new clients seeking HIV testing per day
•Adherence and follow up counselling
•Paediatric/adolescent/adult work up and treatment readiness
•Intervention with struggling/defaulting clients
•Group facilitation for club activities
•Health education and information (group based) on HIV/STI/TB and ART related issues in the waiting rooms of the clinics and/or at community level.
SKILLS, TECHNICAL. FUNCTION AND BEHAVIOUR REQUIRED:
•Ability to function under pressure
•Good interpersonal skills
•Basic administrative and time management skills
•Knowledge of clinic/facility rules and regulations
•Knowledge of the geographical area
•Good knowledge of HIV & AIDS/STI/TB a well as Treatment Adherence
•Knowledge of public health and community resources
REQUIREMENTS
•High school diploma / Gr 12 or equivalent
•Basic counselling skills certificate (NQF Level 4 or equivalent)
EXPERIENCE
•At least 2 years counselling experience
•Previous work experience in counselling is highly advantageous
•Proficient in both English & Afrikaans
•Proficient in Xhosa or other languages will be an advantage
